FIRE & RAIN:
A TRIBUTE TO THE MUSIC OF JAMES TAYLOR
AL CARMICHAEL AS JAMES TAYLOR
With decades of experience in the music industry, Al Carmichael has touched nearly every facet of creating sound. He originally gained recognition as a successful songwriter in Nashville, writing songs for artists amidst the 90’s country music boom. His song “What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am” recorded by Lee Roy Parnell garnered him a billboard hit. Soon after, he set his sights to setup a modest recording studio back in his hometown of Detroit, where he currently resides, creating music for various commercial and film projects, songwriting and performing live in the city's vibrant music scene.
At this stage of his life, Al is pursuing a passion of his...the music of James Taylor. Fire & Rain celebrates the music and stories of the incomparable Sweet Baby James. This is a small ensemble featuring Al, a female vocalist/mandolin player, and a steel guitar player. It is perfect as an intimate show in a smaller theatre or music venue. If a theatre does desire a larger full-band show, Al has performers who would gladly back him up.
